Inspiring Education in the heart of the University City of Oxford

After a brilliant return to in-person summer programmes in 2022, we are already looking forward to an even busier and more international summer in 2023!

Summer in Oxford is a fascinating experience. The colleges, galleries and history of one of the world’s most famous Universities provide an inspiring and beautiful environment for students from all over the world. Our summer courses are very international, with students from over thirty countries. We welcome students of all ages, including juniors under 14 years, unlike many colleges; and adults of all ages. Teachers may join adult professional groups.

Older students are sometimes taught in the University, as well as at OISC, which occupies a listed building in the very centre of Oxford, next to Christ Church, one of the largest Colleges of the University, and home to the famous Cathedral.

Our summer programmes run from mid-June to early September every year, and enrolment is very flexible. Students can begin their programme on any Monday, and are welcome to join for any duration, from 1 week, to 8 weeks or longer as needed.

Students who wish to study with us outside this period are welcome to join us on one of our year-round programmes, either in English Language or in a range of academic subjects.

We offer a range of programmes, including two fixed courses:

English Language and Culture

Students are taught in international groups, unless closed-group teaching has been requested, and are grouped according to age and level of English.

The programme consists of:

- 20 lessons a week in English Language (15 hours of tuition)

- Social activities locally each weekday

- A full-day weekend excursion on Saturday or Sunday each week

English Language, Culture and Academic Enrichment

The programme consists of:

-20 lessons a week (15 hours) of English Language tuition

- 10 lessons a week (7.5 hours) of academic preparation, including for A-Level, IB, and (I)GCSE. Students may choose one or two subjects per week, and are taught either in small groups of 3-4 students, or on a one-to-one basis.

- Social activities locally each weekday
- A full-day weekend excursion on Saturday or Sunday each week

Other programmes offered include:

- Specially designed academic programmes, with a choice of over 30 subjects
Oxford and Cambridge interview and test preparation (one-to-one)
Boarding School entrance tests preparation (one-to-one)
- Programmes for teachers and other professionals.
